Will I still be approved for unemployment?

Postby brandr » Sun Aug 04, 2013 6:36 pm

I have received two fill-outs from EDD in California followed by an unemployment insurance claim benefits award stating the weekly benefit award amount and a packet of information. Today I received a notice with a date and time in 2 weeks when I will have a phone interview. Are they just collecting additional information? Or can they still decline my unemployment claim?

Everyone who files get a notice of what the claim is worth should you be approved. The interview is to determine if you are eligible. This means you have been separated for something other than a straight lack of work. You will find out if you are eligible after the interview. In the meantime do whatever you are asked. This way if you're approved you will get back pay from the date of the claim.
