Why Is Unemployment Insurance So Cheap And Health Insurance So Expensive?

To many people with bad behavior.
Eat too much and don't exercies = diabetes.
Screw around or be gay = HIV.
Failures = expensive insurance because the cost gets spread out to everyone.

We should have separate insurance for unhealty people.
smokers, couch patatoes, gays, adulterers = high rate.
Normal people = low rate.

Note, you can't really compare the two.
Unemployment is a temporary condition that is easily fixed.
Medical conditions can last a lifetime, and cost millions of dollars to treat.
By forcing insurance companies to accept people with pre-existing conditions, the price should go up for everyone.

When you buy health care insurance you are insuring yourself and unemployment insurance is paid forward in the event that you become unemployed.

Also even a minor procedure such as an angiogram would cost you $40,000 (where I live) so costs for insurance are based on anticipated payouts.. Your State unemployment taxes only pay for 6 months of coverage anything beyond this is paid by the federal government. Since you only get 6 months of coverage the is cheaper because liabilities are far less

RE :Why is unemployment insurance so cheap and health insurance so expensive?

The government deducts my unemployment insurance but I have to pay health insurance out of earnings? Seems like the government takes less. Conservatives hate low prices only profits. We need to take health care out like unemployment.

You have to have a job before health insurance can be deducted from your earning.
You clearly have never worked a day in your life.

You can also recollect within the late ninety's the rolling blackouts and spike in prices for vigor that California skilled. That, my friend, used to be the influence of deregulation. The opposite 'blue' states in the nation had been prepared to comply with Cali's model. Except it wholly bombed. Deregulation not often works. Still, it's possible, and much more sensible than UHC.
