Where Can I Find A Good Health Insurance Company?

Postby Leathan » Tue Sep 26, 2017 1:28 am

I really do not understand a lot of things when I see health insurance.

e.g: plan type: ppo or network

Deductible which varies from $2500.00-$10,400.00 coinsurance which varies from 0% to 30%

What do all these mean?

Regarding the state: Chicago, IL

thank you to everybody who is trying to help me. thank you so much to all of you!

it depends on where you live.
I would work with a licensed insurance broker that can give you several options from different companies.
Depending on where you live, I could refer an agent to you.

A good one is whichever one is available in your state.
None of them are good everywhere.
None of them are even available anywhere.
Even if we advise the best company in the world, there is a 98% certainty that it will not be best for you, because there are 50 states and you will probably be in one of the other 49 states.

Post this question again with the name of your state if you want to know a company from which you could get health insurance.

Pick any company at random if you just want a company that offers great insurance to someone in another state, but not to you.

You will need to contact an independent insurance agent or broker who will be able to obtain quotes for several different companies and plans for you.
You will then be able to choose one that fits your budget and your needs.
Normally when I work with a client, I provide them with quotes for at least 26 different type of plans from at least 3 to 4 carriers and assist the client in explaining each of the plan options, deductibles, co-pays, out of pocket maximums, etc.

You can find a local agent in your community by checking the website for the Insurance Agents & Brokers of America under the Find An Agent section.
Once there all you have to do is enter your town or city, state and zip code.
This will pull up all the agents in your local community and then you can look at the websites for each and decide which one will help you best.
The website does not store your information and no one will try to sell you anything.

I hope this information helps you.
Good Luck

With health insurance, there's no short cut.
You get what you pay for.
Low price, is usually crappy coverage, unless you're really young and really healthy.

There's no short cut, either - to find the price for you, for the coverages you want, in your state/area (because it's different in every state!) you need to shop around.

You should probably talk to a local agent.
They will already know which plans have the most providers in which hospitals, in your area.
It would really stink if you bought a cheap plan online, and then found out that your "in network" emergency room is 400 miles away.

You should find a local insurance broker that handles individual health plans.
Have them show you options and costs.
