What Is The Light In This?

Postby Squier » Sat Sep 30, 2017 12:54 pm

Recently one of my best friends passed away from a blod clot that went to his brain. No one was expecting it as he was just 21 years of age. This was so hard for me. Yesterday was his funeral and what I said to be the point at which I attempt to move on. To my displeasure as I got home from the funeral I found that my apartment was broken in to. They broke the lock of my window that my apartment supplies for us and came in and stole three laptops, an xbox, its controllers, about 6 games, a nook and an ipad. This was done during the DAY in the center of the entire complex about 25 yards form the apartments main office. I don't have any of the numbers to the devices and there is no way of looking them up. I honestly don't think I am asking this for some sort of simple solution but maybe a way to cope. We are struggling college students in here and now we have been set back so far. I am disheartened as I know we all are. I fully understand the police won't do anything and I am not expecting them to but I called them anyway. The cop that came told me that even if they flat out broke a window and came in to steal a bunch of items that the apartment is only responsible to fix the window. As you can imagine Renters insurance is just not in any of our budgets at this time. I miss my best friend and I don't understand why this has to happen now. Coming to yahoo answers for help on a topic so personal as this shows desperation I understand but at this point I am out of options.

Oh my! Time for you to take care of yourself for a while.
Get the window fixed pretty quickly.
Then just spend the rest of the weekend on self pampering, a long bath, hot chocolate and curl up with a inspiring book.
Close yourself off to the outside world - plenty of time for that.
Apart from your friend you lost only material items - they can be replaced eventually.
Accept the things you can not change, change the things that you can and have the wisdom to know the difference.
