I've been told it's universal health care by the right.But the left calls it Universal Health Insurance.

In order to be a real universal plan it has to eliminate the middleman in Capitalism aka insurance companies.

obama care is health care that you WILL buy!! The only exception will be those on welfare!! You will continue to provide health care for them!!!!!

It's a way to force Capitalistic organization on Corporate Malfeasance and Monopolies.

It prevents the Morally and Ethically perverse tactic commonly used by these Health Insurance companies of RESCINDING a Health Insurance Plan if a client submits a claim.

That was a common complaint.

It ALSO forces Insurance Companies to accept people even if they have a 'Pre-Existing Condition' .... something so broad - if meant that MILLIONS of Americans could not acquire Health Insurance.

In a recent Harvard Study - it was reported that 45 MILLION Americans died each year as a direct result of not being able to acquire Health Insurance.

These were Fathers - - - Mothers - - - Children.

Of Course, 'christian' Conservatives - even some Catholics (one of which is on this thread) - don't care about those Dying Parents and Children.

They only care that FOX tells them to be opposed to this reform - because their political opponent implemented it.

Such is the Fundamental Moral Perversion of all American Self Described 'christian' Conservatives.

It's a bit of both.
As things are now, millions of Americans have no health care insurance. They must visit the hospital ER to get care for any health issue.
Many of these people, and I know several, wait till they are really sick before going to the ER which often results in a simple health problem getting worse, more tests and long stays in the hospital. This kind of care can range from a low of $400.- thousands. If they had health insurance, they would be able to visit a doctors office at the onset of the health issue and for routine preventative care for only $25-50.
Often preventing the conditions from getting worse.

So, with universal health care, the uninsured would be able to purchase health insurance at a rate they can afford. Low income folks would pay little to nothing and people able to afford premiums or are already covered thru their employer, would have a choice to stay with their present coverage or get on the government "lower-priced" insurance premiums.

It really is a win-win for all of us.
The uninsured would be able to stay healthy and the rest of us would not have to pay the high hospital ER costs for them that we pay now.

I try to figure out why anyone would deny other Americans good health...I can't figure it out.
The ones of us who can afford it now, already pay for those that cannot, the difference with "ObamaCare" we would pay a lot less and everyone would have access to good affordable health care.
