Nearly all health insurance plans will cover bunion surgery. However, since you already have a pre-existing condition the only insurance you could get to cover your surgery would be a group policy through an employer. After waiting through the 6 to 12 months pre-existing conditions period you'd be covered.

You could get health insurance, see a podiatrist and try other options. Sometimes orthotics will help. And then you won't have a preexisting condition that requires surgery at the time you get insured. I have foot challenges and my insurance covers seeing the doctor for an evaluation, xrays etc for diagnosis but not the actual orthotics. They help enough that I don't need immediate surgery but may need it down the road. Hope this helps.

Insurance does not cover surgery that you already need when you get insurance. Insurance only covers surgery that you do not begin to need until after you get insurance.

None, if it's a preexisting condition. You have to buy your insurance BEFORE you know you need it , for stuff to be covered.
