Should I Still Have To Pay For My Health Insurance, When I'm On Ca State Disability & Ca Paid Family Leave?

I recently had a baby and was on CA State Disability & CA Paid Family Leave. I was still making payments to my employer every 2 weeks for health insurance just like when I was working. Is that right? It doesn't seem fair that if you aren't working and getting your normal wages that you should have to pay for your health insurance but then on the other side I was still using my medical coverage to have the baby and go to my post pregnancy appointments. Does anyone know the CA law on this issue?

Well, my employer paid for my health insurance and I only pay for appointments and some medical bills. But if you're paying you're employer for your health insurance, then it stays the same, u still pay for it even if you're on disability, cause who else is gonna pay for it??? Unless u have Medicaid...

I'm pretty sure you have to pay.
The "free" time off isn't charged against your regular vacation time right? So the real benefit the law gives you is the time off.
I'd bet insurance laws require you to be employed and the leave you got probably falls under a "leave of absence" category.
And I know on a leave of absence you have to pay for insurance...

If you want health insurance, you have to pay for it when you are not working.
Your employer allowed you to remain covered as long as you are off of work.

Only if you want to keep it.
The employer has no obligation to continue paying for your benefits while you are on leave.
