Uninsured Car Hit In Michigan?

Postby Acaiseid » Sat Oct 07, 2017 10:57 am

Even though MI is a no fault insurance state, I don't think that will impact in your case.
You were parked, Therefore insurance of the person who hit you is responsible for those losses.
This assumes, of course, you know who hit you.
If not, only your collision coverage, less your deductible, would cover, and since you were uninsured at the time, if you don't know who hit you, the costs to repair becomes yours.

Sorry.

Uninsured Car Hit In Michigan?

You don't. At least not on your insurance. Your policy wasn't in effect at the time of the accident. Unless they backdate the reinstatement, you're not covered.

You would have to pursue the other party's insurance, if you know who they are.
