Time limit for unemployment after Military ETS?

Postby sketes » Thu Jul 12, 2012 9:59 am

I ETSed the Army in 2008 and due to a unique circumstance, I am no longer employed by my last job. Im wondering if I still qualify for unemployment insurance and benefits due to my military service, even though I have held employment since my separation, and if so, how would I go about getting them.Thank you

It varies from state to state but generally, unemployment compensation is calculated based on what you earned within the past several months to a year. Since your ETS date was four years ago, and since you've been employed elsewhere since, your unemployment claim will have to be filed against your most recent employer. I hate to say it, but you don't have anything coming from Uncle Sam.
