I Broke my fibular 10 weeks ago down at the ankle (Weber b fracture) I had a plate and 5 screws put in to fix it together. I had the cast taken off at week nine and have been in a moon boot for 1 week so far. The doctor told me that I should ween myself of the crutches in the first week and in the second week start walking around on carpet (in case I fall over it would be softer to land). I have started to walk around on carpet and a little bit around my room on floor boards. I don't have any pain when I walk but when I have the moon boot on it seems to rub right on the bottom of the fibular. When I touch the sore spot it hurts and when I press down hard it hurts a little still. I can push down hard right next to it and push on different angles and it doesn't hurt. Is this just from the moon boot? Or have a fractured it again? Or is it something to do with the scar tissue as it's rubbing right on the bottom of my scar that isn't quite fully healed yet.
I am going to book into the doctors to get it checked out as part of my foot is still numb and when I push down on some spots it sends tingles up to my toes. I also have limited movement in the foot but was told i didn't need physio....
I have private health insurance but I was put through the public health system (didn't bother me as I didn't have to pay for anything) the doctors seemed not to care to much and each time I went in to get a check they just really wanted to get me out of there as fast as possible.
Also after having my leg in a cast for 9 weeks (7 weeks from surgery) I was told I would only need the moon boot for 4 weeks.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
