Is There Such A Thing As A Pre-pay Funeral?

Postby bardou » Thu Sep 28, 2017 4:56 am

I know a person can get life insurance; but what if you couldn't get life insurance, say be cause of some pre-excisting condistion. Is there a service or company out there that will; say let you make monthly payment, or lump sum payments; for your funeral that you arrange before-hand. You can pick out your plot, and your casket, or an ern if you wish to be cremated. Something along those lines?

sure, people do it all the time...

contact a few mortuaries, and shop around.

It's a kindness to your survivors.

Yes you can pre-pay the funeral costs.
they let you buy the plot and the headstone in advance.
You can decide how much you want to spend on the casket but you don't actually pick it out in advance.

yes, check with your funeral company of choice. They should either take payments or accept a one time payment. Grandparents did it!

Yes, it is called a preneed funeral. I worked in three funeral homes as telemarketer for this such stuff. I wish my husband had done a preneed before he passed away but thank goodness that he had told me what he had wanted not too long before that because our aunt had passed away. God bless them both....Good luck!

Yes...you can get a Pre-paid funeral. I did this years ago. You can also buy the plot at same time. Usually there is no interest when you set up a payment plan...because you are not using it yet.

The best thing about doing this now is you are saving money, time and trouble of getting one later. You pick out your casket...the songs you want played and lots of other things that you living family members would have to do after you die.

I bought my pre-pay for $1100 for funeral and $500 for plot....that was 30 yrs ago. The funeral cost now is $7000 and the plot is $6000.

Check around and see what the rates are at different funeral homes...some even have bargains if you find them on-line.
