Suggestions On Getting Insured And Bonded For Pet Sitting?

Postby Griswold » Fri Jan 02, 2015 7:43 am

Looking for people in the pet sitting field to offer advice on getting bonded and insured. My husband and I would like to start a pet sitting business and we are currently researching all of our options. Thank you in advance for your help.

Suggestions On Getting Insured And Bonded For Pet Sitting?

Why are you asking for insurance advice from dog walkers? You SHOULD be talking to an insurance agent.

I'd strongly suggest a sit-down with whoever does your car and house insurance.

Bonding doesn't mean what I think you think it means - and pet sitting insurance STARTS at $500, more if you walk dogs (you'll be responsible for any bites, after all!).
The last quote I did for a petsitter, was $1500 for the liability.

My big suggestion - talk to a local, independent agent.
None of the direct writers will write business insurance on a previously uninsured business, and you can't find reliable information on business insurance on the 'net.
