Stay At Home Mom Constantly Complains She Has No Money ?

Postby awstin49 » Mon Sep 25, 2017 7:32 pm

My wife is a stay at home mom. I can be layed off for up to 3 months at a time and rely on unemployment insurance to get us by. But when I work I make really good Money. Usually work like 7 12's for weeks at a time. She takes care of the kids when I'm working. When I'm not we both team up. But she's always compkianing about not having spending money. I don't get it. Money is a resource to be used to live and stay comfortable not to have fun all the time and keep yourself entertained daily. She doesn't seem to get that and expects me to fork over like $100 here and there so she can go do her thing. I say no sorry but we can't afford that. Maybe she should like try some at home income or something idk what to say but its starting to affect our marriage. If I don't have the money to hand over to her she gets pissed at me for not considering her. Well we have a car payment mortgage kids food gas etc etc etc etc. We don't have cable tv or anything else unnecessary. What do I do? When I have the money I gladly give her what she needs plus more cause I love her and i know it sucks not having a job and being stuck home with kids. But when there's no money to spare what the Hell?

If you haven't showed her the bills and the budget, now is a good time. She is perfectly capable of earning her own spending money. I have been a stay-at-home mom, so I know that it's not an excuse. I worked while the kids were in school, mowing lawns, weeding for the neighbors, and babysitting. Nobody is stuck - she needs to take some responsibility.

If she's at home with the kids, how is she out doing her thing?

Have you worked out a budget with her?
