My great-grandfather just passed away. We didn't know that he was ill, or going to die.
We're in a difficult spot now . . . we're not sure if he has Life Insurance because he lives in another state, but if he did, how much could they contribute for the cremation?
Also, if he DOESN'T have Life Insurance, what other programs can we use to pay for the cremation? No one has 3,000 dollars for the cremation because of the recession, and a traditional burial will be even more.
I've heard of something called Indigent Burial Service . . . does anyone know what this is and how you can get it for any county in Florida? [my grandfather lived in Marion county, Florida.]
PLEASE, anyone who knows ANYTHING about what to do about this situation, please help me. I am really worried and upset and need an answer soon. Since we live so far away from where he lived, I just don't know what to do. We just don't have the money. I'm scared.
Thank you.
