“gautama Was Wrong To Leave His Family In His Pursuit For The Truth”?

Yes. Those who marry and bear children, like Gautama, are responsible as leaders of a family for life.

There is no need to leave one's family to pursue the truth. We can read, converse, and think about the truth while remaining faithful to a spouse and children.

Cheers,

I think you have to look deeply at his reasons behind leaving his family. He left his family out of compassion as he wanted to stop them and all sentient beings from suffering not for his own selfish reasons.

If the Buddha had not left his family then he wouldn't have been able to give his teachings which the whole Buddhist religion is based on. Regardless if you follow Buddhism or not it has helped millions of people by giving them a moral code to help them to live their lives.

After reaching Nirvana the Buddha returned to his family and his son became a monk and his Aunt became the first Buddhist nun. This shows he wasn't abandoning his family and he returned to help them find the truth. Hope this helps :-)

Gautama was not wrong to leave his family in his pursuit for the truth because he did not leave his family for good and his family was not depend on his income.

His Father was the King of Kapilavastu. His mother passed away soon after his birth.

His step mom (and also aunt) was the Queen.

His wife was the Princess and His son, the prince. They are rich.

No financial crisis after Gautama left his family.

After He attained Buddhahood, he came back to his country and family.

By listening and practicing his Sermons and teachings, his father, step mom, wife, son, half brother became arahats and attained Nirvana.

If He did not leave his family in order to search the noble truth, he cannot attain Buddhahood and his family cannot attain arahat life.

Buddha left his family in order to search the noble truth is just similar to leaving / giving up 100 dollars to get 1000 dollars
