Or for a year or longer? What if you can't afford to pay for health insurance on a monthly basis in that type of situation? Will you get fined/thrown in jail?
What I noticed about government programs that scares me is how merciless they can be and how easy it is to fall between the cracks.
Did you know getting out of paying a student loan is harder than getting out of any other debt-even child support or taxes?
If you can work a minimum wage job, you will owe student loan debt the rest of your unnatural life. It might never be paid off-even 50 years later.
So with Obama Care, don't be surprised to see yourself get expected to hold insurance you can't afford while it's proponents use the argument that "you can't afford not to have it". At least you can sell your car and walk or bike to work if you can't afford car insurance. The government bureaucracy will determine if IT thinks you are trying enough to buy it and could ruin your life if you can't prove you can't. Have you ever tried to prove something to the government-eg the IRS? Their standards of "able to pay" are so tight and they ignore everyone else you owe as if they were the only creditor.
