Well, if you are renting a car then your auto insurance would probly carry over to the rental car so you need the insurance.
Or, if you bought another car you could change the old car to the new one.

They are not stealing from you.
It is important to communicate with the agent or company and let them know what is going on so they know how to help you.

No.

When you get an insurance policy, you agree that they may continue to charge you until you or they cancel the policy.
Stealing is taking something without permission.
This is not stealing because you gave them permission.

Just because you do not have the car does not mean that you can insure it for free.
It costs more to insure a car that you do not have than it costs to insure a car that you do have.
Technically, if you did not cancel the insurance and they are charging you only the amount that it would have cost to insure the car if you still had it, then you are stealing from them, because you are still insuring the car, and you are not paying what it should cost to do that.

Two dumb questions:

a. How did it take you a year to notice the auto withdrawals?

b. If you did not want to keep being charged, why did you not cancel the policy yourself?

Exactly.
When did you cancel the policy? Or did you just assume that it would cancel itself?
