How does Obamacare help the middle class?

Postby jud73 » Tue Jul 03, 2012 6:59 pm

I understand how Obamacare will help the poorest Americans. It means they will be eligible for medicaid.

How does it help middle class Americans? Insurance rates will go up even more now. Deductibles and co-pays will increase. Some small businesses will stop offering insurance to their employees because it will be cheaper for them to just pay the penalty (tax). Employees who are already covered will have to go out and buy insurance. If you have kids, health insurance can be extremely expensive.

I wonder if some people are under the impression that Obamacare means "free" healthcare?

It's hilarious that many are crying over a 1% tax increase! There is also a provisions that will allow a person to op out, religious reasons and hardship but you will not hear that on Fox. I bet if they couldn't get health care because of a pre existing condition you would be singing a different tune.

Your right kids R expensive. Besides if they get sick U don't have to take them to the doc or buy some fru fru health ins. U can bury them in the back yard! So your argument is that if everyone buys health ins it should be more expensive? Think Einstein what insurance is 1st. If healthy ppl don't pay into health ins then it will cost the most! So if employers don't want to buy health ins wont they be less competitive in attracting employees? If they don't offer it now why should they get to keep all the premiums? Wow, and U don't understand how it helps the middle class. Do U know what middle class is?

Absolutely. Our health car system has been declining for years.Notice how more and more people are dying from cancer when it should be less and less. Romney supported this concept when he was Governor of Massachusetts, but now he's against it. That means, Etch-a Sketch.is still with us.

It doesn't and Obamacare will never benefit "middle class" WORKING TAXPAYER Americans.

Hospital stocks soared, making a few Congressional Democrats very wealthy instant multi-millionaire$ and set for several lifetimes; they're NOT sweating being voted out now, so I urge voters in ALL STATES to do exactly that. It's time for VOTERS to take the defiant stand.

Insurance premium rates will surely jump---as the companies will decry how evil ol' Obamacare is cutting into their profit bottom line ( because the welfare abusing poor and illegal Mexican immigrant flood are exempt from paying health insurance---but will get free and better health care ).

And if TAXPAYING WORKERS don't purchase health insurance---you either cough up $95 a year or are forced to give up 1% of your income---whichever pays MORE---and SCOTUS calls it " a tax ", so that makes it all legal to FORCE you to benefit insurance company profit$...or face being poorer.

The welfare abusing thieves and illegal Mexican immigrants flooding our country all celebrate too: Obamacare IS "free healthcare" for them.....WORKING TAXPAYERS cover their bills.

Who thinks Obama is the best POTUS ever now???

Vote Romney this November---and reclaim America....before Obama destroys it.

Do you know what Obamacare, the ACA, is? It enables everyone who was previously unable to buy insurance due to health status or finances, to buy insurance from an exchange in your state which will have many health plans to choose from. It requires employers with over 50 employees to keep insurance. I personally dont see why employment should be tied up to health insurance. You will get a tax credit the following year when you file your tax return if your income is under $88K. You cannot get turned down for pre-existing conditions, cancelled for non-disclosure, non-payment of claims, or limits on care.

The Medicaid expansion will cover all people even age 21 to 65 with incomes under $15K annually. It is up to their state to decide.

There are NO free lunches anymore in America. Obamacare has become the biggest tax increase in history. The Congressional Budget Office in March predicted Obamacare will cost $1.76 trillion over 10 years double what it was sold as costing. The Heritage Foundation calculated that under Obamacare, the average cost of insurance for a full-time worker will go up by $5.51 an hour. This entire fraud that is “affordable” health care was perpetrated with the notion that health care would be provided to the uninsured for free. It’s anything but free, and more people are likely to find themselves uninsured as employers drop health plans altogether.

Those who can’t afford health insurance, who were supposed to be helped by the law, will be the likeliest group to be facing fines.

With the ruling today, the Supreme Court has not only endorsed this travestry of a law, it has endorsed all the secret meetings, bribery, threats, “deeming” of laws to have passed that were never voted on, passing of a bill that hasn’t been written and other corruption that went into it.

Lay this all at the feet of those who voted for Obama. He promised to change America. Well, congratulations to the Left, America is surely different today. Consider this, Catholic health care facilities form the largest not-for-profit health service sector in the United States, caring for nearly one-sixth of all U.S. hospital patients each year.

The 620 Catholic hospitals across the country make up 12.4 percent of the nation’s 5,010 community hospitals. They provide 15 percent of the hospital beds and in 2008 accounted for more than 5.6 million -- 15.8 percent -- of the 35.8 million patients admitted to those hospitals that year. In addition to inpatient hospital stays, Catholic hospitals handled more than 98 million outpatient visits, 15.7 percent of the national total. They employ about 540,000 full-time workers and 240,000 part-time workers.

FOCA will have an equally destructive effect on the freedom of conscience of doctors, nurses and health care workers whose personal convictions do not permit them to cooperate in the private killing of unborn children, George said. It would threaten Catholic health care institutions and Catholic Charities. It would be an evil law that would further divide our country, and the Church should be intent on opposing evil.

Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, told Life SiteNews.com. "No bishop is going to stand by and allow the federal government to dictate what medical procedures must be performed in Catholic hospitals.

"Make no mistake about it, the bishops would shut down Catholic hospitals before acquiescing in the intentional killing of an innocent child. Were this to happen, it would not only cripple the poor, it would cripple the Obama administration."

This law so clearly oversteps the bounds of the Federal Government (as defined in the Constitution) it's sickening. They have no right to force doctors, nurses, and hospitals to perform abortions. And the people would suffer, when hundreds of hospitals close.

Where will the poor that depend upon the charity of these hospitals go when they close? Will they still have access to those hospitals that often provide reduced cost or free care? The Congressional Budget Office in March predicted Obamacare will cost $1.76 trillion over 10 years — double what it was sold as costing. The Heritage Foundation calculated that under Obamacare, the average cost of insurance for a full-time worker will go up by $5.51 an hour. Considering the minimum wage in the U. S. is $7.25 per hour the "working poor" will be forced to live on a salary of $ 2.10 per hour or about $ 16.80 per day. How does this help anyone?
