Home insurance claim. Should installation be included in claim from insurance company?

Home insurance claim for Kitchen fire. Should installation be included with the claim?
We had a kitchen fire in our home a few months back. They are getting into the installation of everything but going over the claim, it covers items to be removed, and covers materials (minimally) but it doesn't cover for anything to be replaced. So all the installation is being taken out of pocket and out of our materials budget. Does this sound right? I thought if its covered to be removed they'd cover for it to be put back.

Thanks for any help in advance.

That's definitely not right for a full new for old household cover policy. However, if you bought bargain basement insurance cover then maybe that is all it covers. Read the policy again including the exemptions which should be fully explained. Also, never accept what the company says as being totally correct they always aim to minimise their loss by trying-it on so argue with them if your policy does not specifically exclude replacement

As long as you're replacing everything at the same value that was damaged..then you'll be ok . This is quite common with insurance companies, and you'll need to call the insurance company back and let them know you'll need some supplement money to cover the difference from what they paid and your out of pocket money. Insurance companies are easy to work with, but you need to make sure you have all your receipts to submit to them.

Homeowners insurance should cover the full cost of repair or replacement. Coverage also is included for debris tear out, removal, haul and dump fees. Sales tax is covered as well.

Maybe your claims adjuster withheld depreciation on the repairs. Covering materials only does not sound right to me.

The insurance should cover the entire cost of the contractor's estimate. Now if you are having something else done or you are having something done that was not agreed to by the insurance adjuster, you are on your own.
