Hit And Run Insurance Question?

Postby Humphrey » Mon Oct 09, 2017 3:32 am

Another vehicle slammed their brakes on infront of me causing me to rear end them, and substantial damage to my car.
The other vehicle left the scene and I have no information on them.
I have uninsured motorist insurance but ins. company said this doesnt fall under that so any repairs will not be covered. The ins. company also says that Im at fault here.
Im a full time student and single mom, I cant afford these repairs OR a new car please help. any advice? Is there anything I can do? Any type of loop hole or something?

I live in Nevada and use progressive.

Hit And Run Insurance Question?

Uninsured motorist does not cover hit and run.
Collision coverage covers hit and run.
Do you have collision coverage? If you do then have Progressive fix your car.
If you have no collision coverage you are out of luck, sorry.
There is no loop hole.
The accident is still your fault for failure to maintain proper distance.
It may not be fair but those are the rules.

Hope you have collision coverage.

Hit And Run Insurance Question?

The insurance company cannot deny your claim on hit and run where the other vehicle fled the scene. They have the obligation to defend you and pay for the claim.

If you did not give a recorded statement you can claim that the other vehicle maliciously slammed the brakes and than left the scene. Why else would they run?

Get a lawyer and also claim bodily injuries where they also obligated to pay. Once the lawyer gets done with his part, you can also collect UM repairs for your vehicle.

PROGRESSIVE CANNOT PROVE YOU ARE AT FAULT BECAUSE YOU REAR END SOMEONE. YOU COULD HAVE BEEN A VICTIM OF "Swoop and Squat" A DANGEROUS INSURANCE FRAUD SCHEME GONE BAD FOR ALL I KNOW.

Insist on that and you'll be fine.
