Got A Speeding Ticket Was Going 72/55 On 66 Need Advice?

Postby Lexann » Sun Aug 13, 2017 6:20 pm

So this is my first speeding ticket ever, i am usually a good driver. But i was sooo tired on that night. I was working more then 40 hours a week. Luckily the officer didn't tell me to step out of the vehicle to test me cause my eyes were red. And i had to go to work back again at 4 in the morning after i got off at 10 at night. I am just wondering, since its my first ticket. Do i have to pay first for the ticket before the court date then go to court to give my situation? Any advice, cause i really dont want my insurance to go higher then it is. As i got terminated and am unemployed. And really do not have any money left due to being in college full time.

Thanks! :/

Before you pay, you go to court. There you can plead however you'd like, but I would recommend talking to the prosecutor and telling him the situation (you should call the court to ask for this), and chances are since you're a first offender, he or she will reduce or drop the charges. Plus, I don't know about where you are, but in the South, 72 in a 55 is not really a big deal. Be sure to wear business attire!
