Getting ready to move into a...?

Postby jerrah23 » Wed Apr 25, 2012 6:06 pm

One bedroom apartment it is all electric. It is section 8 so rent will be very cheap. What are some ways that I can keep my electric bill down like under $100. I am a college student im 27 and living with parents but I have no freedom and want out. I will have a computer and tv. I get $2000 every 6 months which will be for bills, food, gas, car insurance and medical insurance. I also have a part-time job making 8.25 an hour. Any ideas are appreciated. Oh and I live in Indiana.

Getting ready to move into a...?

You are very lucky to get a Section 8 apartment at 27 by yourself. Your goal should be to improve your situation and get a career so you can move and live wherever you want. So your question is how can you cut down on your electric bill? A computer does not use much power but an electric stove does. Dont leave lights on and buy the CFL type energy-saving lights. Buy energy star appliances that use less power. I often unplug appliances if I am going to be gone all day.I dont know if you have electric or gas heat.

if u have 'freedom to choose'
type electrics then shop companies
for best rates. do b aware some
company's charge u extra if u do
not use a minimum KWH .
out side of that change to cfl bulbs.
keep ur heat low in winter 68 degrees.
keep a/c high in summer 78 degrees.
