Is filing for unemployment insurance bad for the last employer?

Postby ronell » Fri Apr 01, 2011 5:06 pm

Hi.. I was wondering what happens to the last employer when their employee files for an unemployment benefits. If someone quits because of unsuitable working environment that makes him/her eligible to receive the benefits and files for the benefits, does the application put the last employer in some kind of black list as an *abusive* or *bad* employer?? Does the state government related to unemployment benefits keep that kind of list in file???

Thanks in advance!

It depends on the state. Generally, the taxes go up for the employer. There is no black list, per se.
