Does my ex-girlfriend have any right over my property?

Does my ex-girlfriend have any right over my property?

Postby ascot » Wed Aug 15, 2012 11:53 am

Call her on it. She wants to sue you then tell her to go ahead and contact your lawyer (hire one). She doesn't have a leg to stand on because she did not contribute to the household itself beyond paying for part of the groceries. She can attempt to do so but would have a hard case in which she produces receipts for what she says is her's. But there can be a possible case if she was the one that looked after the house while you worked. If she worked herself and you equally did things then forget it.

Go ahead, pull her bluff, let her take you to court, she dosen't have a leg to stand on.Sounds like she's just trying to get something for nothing. As long as her name is not on the car or penthouse and you said you had receipts for your furniture, you have not a dam thing to worry about.Don't let her fool you!

It is California and they do have domestic partnership laws.
She can try to sue, but only for the last 6 months.
If all the major property is in your parents name, she does not have much of a case.
If you can prove that each of you paid 1/2 of the bills while she was there, then she should only be allowed to take what is hers.
But, do be aware that there are some slime ball lawyers there that just might take her case, so just be prepared. She should loose, but you never know. (She was just paying rent with benefits)

She has no claim to anything and is obviously just a bitter idiot. STOP answering her phone calls. No attorney is going to take her case so you have nothing to worry about as long as your aren't stupid enough to keep in contact with her.

Chilax ure not even married to her so that gives her no right unless u have kids. She can take u to court and she'll be the loser cos buying grocery is a contribution to a relationship. U can sue her as well cos she lived in ur house free but to be honest those things are thinks considered to be a contribution as long as no loan was given out. Check out Judge Martis court. Those r not even ur stuff most r ur parents and the court will not be stupid to give her ur parents stuff so just calm down.

She's high, let her take you to court ( doubt she even has the first clue on how to file a claim), if you have receipts for everything you've nothing to worry about, and as far as the house and car, she's insane, a judge would laugh!
