I have a 84' model mobile home but i paid to have it remodeled so it's very nice on the inside.
Well i want to rent it out so i want to put insurance on it in case a fire or etc. happens to it while it's being rented out .
But can i put insurance on a mobile home that old ? and can i put as much as i want or does the insurance only cover how much it's worth ?
I don't know of any insurance companies that will put physical damage on a mobile home that's over 25 years old, and most won't insure them if it's over 20 years old.
If money is no object, you could have an independent agent put it out to someplace like Lloyds of London - $5,000 minimum premium, for a limited risk policy. Regardless of how much coverage you BUY, the most they'd pay out in a claim, is the cost to repair, or the "actual cash value" of the remodeled mobile home, usually whichever is LESS.
