Annual Home Owners Insurance Question?

You contact an agent, and let them do it for you.

No state, sets rates for this, and there are about 40 variables that go into it.

Annual Home Owners Insurance Question?

You don't calculate it yourself.
The insurance company does, using a proprietary formula.
The way you find it is to ask them to tell it to you.

Annual Home Owners Insurance Question?

Postby Barris » Sun Oct 08, 2017 12:41 pm

You can't.
The policy coverage varies for each home owner.
Some pay for a Replacement Policy and others just for minimum coverage.

A good policy replaces everything at today's prices no matter how old it is and what you paid for it.

Expect to spend 2000 a yr for a house and contents valued at 500k

The cheaper policy would cost 1200

In most areas, you can go to the county assessor website and search by address to find the amount the owner is being charged.

Annual Home Owners Insurance Question?

Unless you have a very good education in insurance it would be impossible. If you are in the market for homeowner insurance find a professional insurance agent and take your case to him (or her). Most homes are terribly under insured and that presents big problems with a claim. To break even on a major claim you must always insure to a value for a total loss. Usually it takes a professional agent to calculate the needed amount of coverage especially so for all homes more than 20 years old.
