Health services: US is better on that front. People in the UK are waiting for medical help much longer than in the US. The quality of services is often better as well.
Education; with places like Cambridge and Oxford .... the US has nothing on the UK on that one. I suspect that on the lower levels of education the US may have an advantage.
Heritage sights: If you're speaking of historic sights ... the UK has that one hands down. King Edward I and his castles. Bath, a town built by the Romans. Roads built by Romans. Stonehenge. The US has our Colonies as well as several historical battle fields. We have Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse. We have the Old North Church, as well as more but nothing older than 300 years or so. ..... Most of the sights in the US are "natural wonders", The Grand Canyon, Yosemite, The Rocky Mountains, etc, whereas the sights of the UK are things created by man. Hard to pick the best.
People: It's a draw. I've talked with people in both places and found them wonderful.
Food: Food findings in both places are great. The ethnic eateries in London alone will take you from Mexico to Russia, from Norway to India. Native UK food is great tool. The US really has few really "native foods." The hot dog, ice cream cone, hamburger on a bun and popped corn are some of the few I can think of.
Entertainment: Theatre is great in both places. Rock mustic is also even. Each has it's own forms of ethnic music and customs. Movie production would, IMO, go to the US.
Middle Easter I'd have to say that both countries have tasted the terrorist threat in equal measure.
Patriotism: I'd say that the US has the edge on this one.
General Life: I feel the standard of living is substantially higher in the US.
How's that?
